But if you’ve never worked with a staffing company before, you may have some questions about how this works. The good news is we have the answers.

What jobs does Express hire for?

Express places job seekers in a wide range of jobs, including:

What does it mean to be an Express associate?

When you’re placed in a job by Express, you become an Express associate.

Our associates are employees of Express working for client companies. Being an Express associate isn’t a work assignment itself, but it means you’re working for Express or you’re in the process of being placed on assignment.

What’s a work assignment, and do I have to accept every one I’m offered?

A work assignment is a position that Express offers you to work at one of our client companies. Work assignments vary in length and type, ranging from temporary or contract or evaluation hire or direct hire opportunities.

You have the choice to accept or decline work assignments based on your availability and interests. You’re never required to accept an assignment, though once you do, we depend on you to complete it.

How long is a work assignment?

Assignments can last from four hours to a few weeks or even months, and some even develop into a full-time position. We’ll let you know the expected duration before you accept to make sure your availability matches the job requirements.

How can I submit an application or resume to your office?

Submit your application or resume online, by phone, or in person. Be prepared to share your work history, skills, education, training, qualifications, availability, how much you’d like to work, and preferences for your next job.

What if I don’t have a resume?

No resume, no problem. Our Employment Specialists will work with you to get all the information needed about your work history, skills, and qualifications, and can coach you on creating one.

What if there’s not a job open for me?

Apply even if there isn’t an immediate opening. Your application stays in our talent pool for future opportunities.

What’s it like to interview with Express?

One interview with Express can qualify you for a wide variety of positions—including many that may not be listed anywhere else. To make the best use of your time during the interview, have the following information with you:

  • References with contact information
  • Work eligibility documentation
  • Work history or resume
  • Education, including certifications
  • Extra-curriculars or volunteer work history
  • Be ready to take a skills assessment for some jobs

How often will I be paid?

When on assignment, you’ll receive weekly pay. You’ll choose to pick up a printed check at your local Express office or be paid via direct deposit.

Do I pay any fees to Express for finding me a job?

No, you’re never charged a fee at Express to find a job.
