The DAISY Award® is a unique, international recognition given to extraordinary nurses in honor of their influence on the life of a patient, family, or colleague. Express Healthcare Staffing has partnered with The DAISY Foundation to recognize and reward amazing nurses in our local healthcare facilities.
Nominations are collected year-round, and nurses may be nominated by anyone—patients, families, colleagues, employers, or other healthcare professionals. One winner per quarter is selected by the Express Healthcare DAISY Award Nomination Committee.
About The DAISY Award
This program was established by the family of J. Patrick Barnes who died in 1999 from complications of Idiopathic Thrombocytopenic Purpura (ITP), a little known but not uncommon auto-immune disease. During his hospitalization, Barnes’ family deeply appreciated not only the immense clinical skill but also the enormous compassion shown to Pat and his family by his nurses. DAISY is an acronym for Diseases Attacking the Immune SYstem.
