Canada Employed: Reskilling In-House Talent, Job Seekers Looking for Change

Canada Employed explores the state of employment and unemployment in Canada. Learn more about the latest insights, according to a recent Express Employment Professionals-Harris Poll survey.

The survey showed companies are reducing costs by reskilling existing employees:

  • 28% of companies either plan to cut jobs or not hire at all, citing budget constraints this year.
  • 67% of companies plan to offer company-led training sessions or programs either during or outside of working hours.

Concerning the reasons job seekers are looking for change, the survey indicated:

  • Among job seekers, 47% commonly fear they won’t get the salary raise or increase they believe they deserve at their current workplace.
  • 57% of job seekers say it will be difficult to find a job in the next six months.
