Ways to Celebrate
Recognizing your amazing support staff shows how much you appreciate them. Showing appreciation strengthens morale, promotes retention, and boosts engagement, which is essential to any successful business.
Take time to recognize the administrative professionals in your workplace with these ideas:
- Cater lunch or send food delivery cards
- Share your appreciation with a handwritten thank-you note
- Give a small, thoughtful gift, like their favorite candy or beverage, a nice notebook or pen, or a personalized item for their desk.
- Recognize your support staff on social media using #AdminProfessionalsDay
History
The history of these observances dates back to 1942, when the National Secretaries Association was created to promote administrative roles and their importance to the economy, following a shortage of administrative personnel during World War II. The first National Secretaries Day and National Secretaries Week were held in 1952 and later renamed.
We now celebrate administrative professionals every year for all the work they do!
